•         If there is a fire in your area

•         Stay Clam

•         Don’t shout “Fire”

•         Use the following procedure:

•         R-Rescue

•         A-Alert

•         C-Confine

•         E-Extinguish

•         R – Rescue

•         Immediate action may be needed to save a life.

•         Move patients in immediate danger and close that door.

•         A – Alert

•         Alert by pulling down the fire alarm station

•         Located at stairwells, nursing stations, office areas

•         Notify of exact fire location

•         Hospitals: Switchboard operator

•         Dial 22

•         Ambulatory Sites/Offices:

•         Dial 9-1-1

•         C – Confine

•         Close doors and windows to prevent the spread of smoke and to cut off air supply to the fire.

•         E – Extinguish

•         With a fire extinguisher, if trained and safe to do so.
